Timebanking Blue Mountains is an innovative new volunteer programme which aims to connect, strengthen & increase resilience in our community by sharing skills, facilitating acts of kindness & encouraging respect for others.
Timebanking is being auspiced locally by the Springwood Neighbourhood Centre on behalf of NSW Volunteering, & is a concept specifically designed to be owned, enjoyed & nurtured by all who value volunteering in our Blue Mountains. From Lapstone to Mount Victoria to Bell & right across our wonderfully diverse & unique community.
It’s as simple as give an hour, receive an hour: by giving one hour of volunteering to another member, you earn one hour of time credits which can be used to receive services that are of personal value. Things such as dog walking, gardening, massage, language tuition, travel advice, design ideas or sharing a members extensive knowledge of celestial photography. You're only limited by your imagination!
Organisations are equally encouraged to join, being a lovely way of rewarding volunteers - and as a great place to advertise for assistance. As well, the Hourglass Community Chest has been established to assist those in need, but who may not be able to reciprocate because of ill-health, age or lack of mobility.
We love to think that everyone can be part of Timebanking in the Blue Mountains, as we all have something to give, something we need . . . or know of someone who would appreciate a helping hand.
For more information or assistance, please don't hesitate to contact our Timebanking team at the Springwood Neighbourhood Centre on 4751 3033. Alternatively email our Timebanking Co-ordinator (Jeanette Hansen) at firstname.lastname@example.org or our Centre Volunteers at email@example.com.
